11. Reports

· Secretary – M. Stringer - I feel like I say this in every one of my reports, there is still a lot of paperwork that isn’t getting forwarded or updated to the new members or even getting to LBC so again I want to make sure when members are selling ponies that they handed over all the pony’s relevant certificates as these don’t belong to the members they belong to the Society so therefore need to go with the pony. This also applies if the pony is to be shown all the relevant paperwork needs to be up to date as there is a lot of paperwork coming through either to LBC or to our Show coordinators that has not had pony height upgrades, Adult Registrations or transfers done, so we need to make sure that members are aware of the process for all AMPS registered ponies which is a big job and one that is an ongoing issue not only for the committee but also for LBC who have to spend time looking for paperwork which in the end is costing the society more money

Stringer - Nothing much to report at this stage everything is ticking along as we are now in the full swing of the show season we just need to make sure that we have everything ready for the show that will be coming up in January and a lot of members will be on Holidays so we need to make sure we are adding all the events on Facebook
SA – B. Voysey - Our SA 2025 / 2026 Show Season is well underway with High Point Classes having been held at 2 Ag Shows and we have already held 3 of our own Shows, with another 4 Shows planned, as well as a State Championship Show. As is our custom in SA, so that we can save on funds we share Show venues and Judges with MHAA® SA; which also works well for Members who have both Miniature Ponies and Miniature Horses. It has also worked to our advantage as we have had a few Miniature Horse Members become interested in Miniature Pony ownership, which has also included AMPS® Membership as well. We also held a very successful Promotional Event at Meadows Field Day, which is a very large event within excess of 8,000 attending the day. We were provided with a large area, at no charge of course, to set up a display with a trail course, jumps and had Ponies doing long-reign and harness, as well as an area set up where people could pat the Ponies and ask questions about them. These Promotional Events are always popular, not only as social events with our Members, but also a great opportunity to show the general public the versatility of Miniature and Appendix Ponies.
NSW - B. Voysey - The NSW 2025-2026 Show season started with a Spring Feature Show at Bathurst, which attracted good entries with 22 Ponies entered and I had good feedback from this Show. We have also held our State Championship Show at Sutton Farm Equestrian Centre, which I went up to NSW to run. This was a very successful event with 27 Ponies entered with excellent feedback from Members who attended, both published-on Facebook and via personal messages of thanks to me. We have another Show planned for February and dates have already been set for next season and advertised on Facebook, so that Members are advised well in advance. Also, as we did last year, Members will be sent an Email with the Show dates. NSW, more so than other States, has so many other so called ‘Miniature Groups’, which makes it very difficult, as they always put Shows on to conflict with our Show dates; which does not help anyone and makes it extremely difficult to compete and provide successful events for our members to attend. We will be sharing the venues for all our Shows with MHAA® NSW Promotional Group, which will result in a saving on venue hire costs and as we have a few Members with both Miniature Ponies and Miniature Horses it works well for them. As we have seen in SA, it has also worked to our advantage as it has also resulted in some new Members for AMPS®, as well as some additional Pony Registrations. I am very grateful to the number of NSW Members who have assisted at Shows and continue to offer assistance in this regard. As well as the number of Members who regularly offer sponsorship to assist AMPS® NSW so that we can continue to put on Shows for Members.
12. General Business

Discussed at length – M Chandley believed that only AMPS® Registration Numbers should appear on the Database. Several instances highlighted.
It was pointed out that if Ponies were accepted into the AMPS® Registry with other Registrations, then it was necessary to record this information correctly otherwise AMPS® would be falsifying the Pony’s history. Also, Members had paid extra to register their Pony this way with the expectation that the correct pedigree would be recorded. Following considerable discussion and taking into account that nothing can be changed in retrospect and the cost involved with any changes to the database, it was resolved that the current system with regards to recording Registration numbers will continue.
· Recording of heights was also discussed and it was agreed that only cm should be recorded for AMPS® Registrations and that it was not necessary to record the height of Foals and that Forms should be amended in this regard.
· The State Code system for deposits to the AMPS® Bank Account which was recently introduced on a trial period had been used for Show entries in Victoria and was working well and making the identification of deposits easier. The system would now also be used for bank deposits by SA and NSW Members.
· Jo Mackey asked if Committee would consider having a National Show. It was explained that AMPS® had previously held the “Australasian Show”, which was an AMPS® National Show. These had been held in SA, Victoria and NSW however due to expense involved and lack of interest by Members to travel interstate to support the Show; which then resulted in what was originally intended to be the “Australasian Show” being another State Show so to speak and for this reason it was decided in the best interest of the Society and Members for it to be discontinued.
