Following a review of the accounts for the financial year ended 30 June, 2024, the National Committee of Management, with a view to maintaining the viability of the Society, have no alternative but to increase our Registry and Membership Fees from 1 November 2024.
We wish to point out that the last time Registry and Membership Fee increases took place was prior to 2011 and that Membership Fee increases won't affect current Members until they renew their Membership next year.
We have done our utmost to maintain the Society without increases to Members for over a decade, however increased running costs of the Society, including but not limited to, Insurance Premium increases and Registry Office expenses have now made these increases necessary.
The National Committee of Management of the Society are very proud that AMPS® has been looking after Members and their Ponies around Australia for the last 50 years and the longevity of AMPS® is paramount in all decisions that are made.
AMPS®, like many other Groups, are still recovering from the impact that Covid had on our Society and in this regard we need Member support and understanding as this is extremely important for the Society, which as a Not For Profit Member based organization, needs your support and commitment as a Member, as this is vital to ensure the Society remains strong and financially viable into the future.

Hi everybody, Time is flying it would seem whether we are having fun or not and guess what is nearly upon us, yep National Annual General meeting which for the last couple of years has run successfully via zoom will again run under the same zoom format, commencing at 10:00am on Saturday the 20th of September. The zoom ID for the meeting will be supplied by the National Secretary via email so please feel free to email her if you are wanting to attend the meeting from your own lounge room. All our regular meetings are now also held via zoom which saves a lot of time and money with the current price of fuel, for our committee as they don’t need to travel and can zoom from wherever they are. If you have thought of wanting to be on the National Committee but didn’t think you had the time now might be a good time to make that commitment as it is certainly more manageable and I would really like to see some new faces on committee. I would like to thank our current committee again for all the work they do as always with challenges, its not always easy but we still seem to somehow keep our society viable so thank you. Hope to see some of you via zoom for our AGM commencing at 10:00am EST on Saturday the 20th of September.
· Secretary – M. Stringer
Things are starting to move slowly with memberships, upgrades and foal registration coming in and the states are starting to get ready and start organizing shows and fundraising etc. All current financial members will soon receive their membership renewal and nomination forms which invites them to nominate for any National Committee and State Delegates positions. As all positions will be vacated and voluntary, I would hope that members would think about coming on board and giving it a go as we need help to keep the Society moving forward so if anyone knows anyone please encourage them to come on board and nominate as we really need new members to join us.

Again, I need to thank my committee and their families for all their hard work over the last 12 months from setting up the grounds and donating their time to help run the AMPS® shows and those who donated Garlands, prize money, trophies and raffle prizes without all of you there would be no shows or classes. We hold our Victorian meetings on the first Friday night of every second month so if anyone has any ideas as we need to get more members involved, so If you know anyone that maybe interested in making a difference please encouragement them to come to meetings and help the Victorian Committee and AMPS® Society
SA – B. Voysey –
Planning is in place for our SA 2025 / 2026 Show Season with High Point Classes at 3 or 4 Ag Shows, several of our own Shows, as well as a State Championship Show. As is our custom in SA, so that we can save on funds we will share Show venues and Judges with MHAA® SA. We are also planning a couple of Promotional Events this season, which are always popular with our Members and are a great opportunity to show to the general public the versatility of Miniature and Appendix Ponies. High Points have been calculated for last season, have been checked and I am in the process of advising the Members who were successful and once they are all notified, we will begin High Point Presentation preparations.
NSW - B. Voysey We had very good entries in the Miniature Pony Classes at the Sydney Royal Show this year and I was told by the Judge that the entries were of a very high standard, with one of our Members being successful in winning two sections of the competitions. As well as other Members achieving great results in the Harness section. Our Members were very pleased to have an Interstate Judge this year and felt that the Judging was extremely thorough and fair. I have submitted feedback for the 2025 Show and Judge names for consideration for the 2026 Sydney Royal, as well as requesting they consider including Appendix Classes Unfortunately, AMPS® NSW had to postpone our planned show at Merriwa in May, but we have some other Shows planned in conjunction with MHAA® NSW in the coming Show Season.
12. General Business
· Facebook pages: M Stringer reported that she still has no access to any of the AMPS® FB pages due to her page being hacked and she is unable to set up new pages.
Facebook pages were discussed and B Voysey suggested that ideally we should always have at least 2 National Committee Members as admin on all pages.
It was agreed by Committee that as M Stringer is unable to access the
AMPS® National and Victorian Pages that J Spiteri, M Miller and
C Dyer have admin roles on them. Therefore, if anything needed posting on these pages either one of them could do the post.
B Voysey confirmed that her and M Towle were admin on the SA and NSW pages, now that M Stringer is not able to access these pages. Therefore B Voysey will look into adding C Dyer and J Spiteri on these pages as back-up admins.

The National Committee of Management has held discussions at several meetings regarding the Small Talk publication. It is considered that the current quarterly magazine fails to provide members with up-to-date information, and a quality magazine The number of Member contributions and paid advertisements has rapidly decreased over the past few years, largely due to the increased use of social media and the ability to readily advertise free to a much broader audience. Due to the significant voluntary hours required by the Small Talk Editor to seek articles and prepare the publication for printing, it has also been a challenge for the Committee to obtain nominations for this position. Considering the factors above, the National Committee of Management decision is to reduce the quarterly publications to One (1) annual publication, published October each year. The aim is to provide a magazine that Members look forward to receiving with useful information and which celebrates the achievements of our Members and their ponies.
If Members would like extra copies of Small Talk they are $15 each plus postage
